Itinerary
Day 1: Yerevan — City Tour
Arrival in Yerevan, meeting at the airport and transfer to the hotel for check-in. After rest — city tour of Yerevan, including Republic Square, the Opera House, and the Cascade. Then visit to the Matenadaran — the famous institute of ancient manuscripts, where you can see unique Armenian manuscripts and feel the atmosphere of the country’s rich history. Free evening for rest or a walk in the city.
Day 2: Yerevan – Etchmiadzin – Zvartnots – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to one of the 12 ancient capitals of Armenia — Etchmiadzin (Vagharshapat) and sightseeing of the Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin (founded in the 4th century) and the Church of Saint Hripsime (7th century).
Visit to the Temple of Vigilant Powers, Heavenly Angels — Zvartnots (7th century).
Return to Yerevan for lunch. Free time in the city. Overnight in a hotel in Yerevan.
Day 3: Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to Garni Fortress and Geghard Monastery. On the way, stop at the Charents Arch, which offers a beautiful view of Mount Ararat.
Excursion to Garni Fortress (3rd century BC – 13th century AD) — the summer residence of Armenian kings. Visit the pagan Temple of the Sun, built by Armenian King Trdat I in the 1st century AD, as well as other monuments of the fortress.
Visit to the unique cave (rock-hewn) monastery Geghard (12th–13th centuries) — the Monastery of the Spear, some of whose chambers have outstanding acoustics. The name Geghard is connected with the spear that, according to legend, was used by a Roman soldier to pierce Christ on the cross. The spearhead is kept in the museum of the Etchmiadzin Cathedral.
Return to Yerevan for lunch. Free time in the city. Overnight in a hotel in Yerevan.
Day 4: Yerevan – Sevan – Zvartnots Airport
Breakfast at the hotel. Trip to the blue pearl of Armenia — high-altitude Lake Sevan (1900 m). Visit Sevanavank Monastery (9th century) on the Sevan peninsula.
Transfer to Zvartnots Airport. Departure from Yerevan.
