About This Tour
We set off to the heart of the Lori region on a one-day journey that combines UNESCO monasteries, dramatic canyon landscapes, and a mysterious cave-fortress — all in one route.
Early in the morning, departure from Yerevan north toward the green Debed Canyon. Along the way, an experienced guide will introduce you to medieval Armenian history, telling stories of scholars, monks, and ancient trade routes.
• Sanahin Monastery (10th–13th centuries) — a UNESCO World Heritage site and former center of education and science. Explore the churches, library, and intricate stone carvings.
• Haghpat Monastery — a majestic complex above the Debed Gorge, known for its harmonious architecture and beautiful khachkars. Panoramic views and a peaceful atmosphere.
• Zarni-Parni Cave-Fortress — a natural rock complex hidden in the cliffs, once used as a shelter and defensive point. Scenic canyon views and a touch of adventure.
