About This Tour

Yerevan, Echmiadzin, Zvartnots, Garni, Geghard

Departure from Yerevan to the Armavir Province.

Visit the ruins of Zvartnots Cathedral (“Temple of the Vigilant Forces,” 7th century), destroyed by an earthquake in 939. The surviving remains testify to the grandeur of the structure.

Visit Saint Hripsime Church.

Visit one of the 12 historical capitals of Armenia — Vagharshapat (Echmiadzin) — including the Etchmiadzin Cathedral and the “Treasury of Etchmiadzin” Museum.

Etchmiadzin Cathedral and the ruins of Zvartnots are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Lunch with a lavash baking masterclass (optional, for an additional fee).

Drive to Geghard Monastery. Explore this unique rock-cut monastery (12th–13th centuries), famous for its cave chambers with exceptional acoustics.

Excursion to the former summer residence of Armenian kings — Garni Fortress (1st–4th centuries AD) and the pagan Garni Temple (1st century), built by King Trdat in 77 AD — the only surviving Hellenistic-style temple in the CIS region.

Return to Yerevan.
