Armenia’s sunlit treasure: the aroma and taste of apricot
Armenia is famous for its juicy, aromatic, and truly sun-filled apricots, which are considered one of the main symbols of the country and its nature. They grow on the fertile slopes near the biblical Mount Ararat and in warm valleys where the mild climate, чистый горный воздух, and abundance of sunshine create ideal conditions for ripening. Thanks to this, Armenian apricots are known for their especially rich flavor, bright color, and delicate honey aroma.
Apricots are used to make many traditional and modern products: fragrant jams and preserves, thick compotes, natural juices, and syrups. They are also dried to produce sweet dried fruits that preserve the taste of summer throughout the year. In addition, apricots are used in the production of the famous Armenian brandy, giving it soft fruity notes and a distinctive character.
Every summer, the apricot harvest becomes a real celebration — a joyful time when families gather together in orchards, share the harvest, and enjoy fresh fruits straight from the trees. This season is filled with warmth, the scent of ripe fruit, and a sense of unity with nature, reflecting the rich traditions and hospitality of Armenia.
