Vardavar 2026 in Yerevan: The ultimate summer water festival at Republic Square

On July 12, the heart of Yerevan will transform into the main stage of summer celebration as the traditional Armenian holiday Vardavar evolves into a large-scale water festival at Republic Square.

Visitors can expect a big stage, live performances by well-known Armenian and international artists, as well as DJ sets creating the atmosphere of a true open-air summer festival. Alongside the music and entertainment, there will be competitions, interactive zones, and of course the highlight — massive water fights in the very center of the city.

A dedicated safe water zone will be available for children, while those who want to relax can enjoy a food court offering a variety of food and drinks.

Despite the new format, the traditional spirit of Vardavar remains unchanged: water splashing in the usual city spots is still allowed, preserving the joyful and spontaneous character of the celebration.

Organizers aim to turn Vardavar into one of Armenia’s key tourism landmarks — a signature summer event recognized far beyond the country’s borders.
